Tides Waterfront Dining is ideally located in Caloundra, with one of the best views on the Sunshine Coast. With 180 degree views from the Pacific Ocean, along the Pumicestone Passage to sunsets over the Glasshouse Mountains, there is never a bad table or day at Tides Waterfront.
Offering guests a special dining experience where nothing is too much trouble. The menu is focused on fresh seasonal produce with an emphasis on the stunning local seafood on offer. Tides has won numerous awards over the years including Caloundra's first chefs hat in 2015, to diners favourite from leading industry advocates. Tides has also held a 1 glass rating for its wine list for the past 5 years from the Australia's Best Wine Lists, and has just won the Restaurant & Catering Associations, best contemporary restaurant in Queensland for 2018.
Leading the Kitchen team is Head Chef Damian Gage. Damian has been involved with Tides, working his way from a junior chef some 7 years ago. Damian is a New Zealand native and has grown up around coastal regions where is love of cooking grew. His first jobs consisted of working on prawn and scallop boats out the the famous Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. He started helping in family run restaurants, before he moved to Australia.
Once in Australia, he started his cooking apprenticeship and his food style has grown from there. Learning the basic french techniques, he has developed his skills and previous knowledge of seafood to find his strength in Modern Australian dishes with an emphasis on using natural products, fresh and seasonal. He loves to put a twist on classic favorites.
